During the graduation, Capt. Morgan Montgomery, C Battery, 1st Battalion, 79th Field Artillery commander, credited the drill sergeants with helping the Army's newest Soldiers be successful. He said they are "the Army's finest noncommissioned officers" who taught them the true meaning of discipline and teamwork.

"The drill sergeant's professionalism, competence and dedication to standards have made a lifelong impression on your Soldiers," he said to the families.

Graduation speaker, Col. Steven Carpenter, 75th Field Artillery Brigade commander, said, "The values and standards that these drill sergeants taught their Soldiers will endure. These Soldiers will rise to become leaders themselves, and they will pass on these values and standards to the next generation."

The new Soldiers of C/1-79th FA had a particular drill sergeant that made the biggest impression on them.
