Construction has started on Centennial Park, just across the street from the Basic Combat Museum on

post. Construction started July 17 with the goal of completing the footings for the planned amphitheater. They have dug out the footings and are now pouring the concrete for them. There is no current date for the completion of the park. However, the amphitheater footings are expected to be completed either July 31 or Aug. 1. Then, the granite walls of the amphitheater will be installed in the coming weeks. Above, footings for the amphitheater have been dug out and are being prepped for concrete. Far left, workers make the final preparations in framing the base for concrete. Left, concrete for one of the footings has been poured and is curing.
