ANNISTON ARMY DEPOT, Ala. -- The farewell ceremony for Col. Martine Kidd, outgoing commander for Anniston Army Depot, was filled with inside jokes from various directorates and offices as well as the presentation of a few practical items for her next duty station.
The event, held July 24 at the Berman Varner House, concluded with Kidd reminiscing over the last two years and praising the workforce.
"I told every New Employee Orientation class I've spoken to that there are no small jobs at Anniston," she said. "That includes support positions."
Kidd said every organization on the installation and every employee of those organizations are all vital to ensuring the war fighters receive the equipment needed when they need it and where they need it.
"What matters most is the people," she said.
Kidd, who took command July 30, 2015, said she would like her time at ANAD to be remembered for the fact that she cared about the people in the workforce.
"I love Anniston Army Depot and both Justin and I wish we didn't have to go," said Kidd. "I have come and now I must go. But, I'll remember you and I thank each of you for the memories I'll cherish for a lifetime.
