The Responsive Strategic Sourcing for Services Program and Contracting Office hosted the RS3 contract kick-off meeting at the Mallette Auditorium, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, July 17. The RS3 Office is part of the U.S. Army Contracting Command -- Aberdeen Proving Ground.
Katherine Thompson, RS3 Contracting Officer, presented a detailed briefing to representatives of the 56 contract awardees, outlining key points about the contract. Ms. Thompson also dedicated time to answering the many questions posed by the contract awardees.
Kenyata Wesley, the ACC-APG executive director, concluded the meeting by addressing the audience and thanking the RS3 Program and Contracting Team for its efforts in awarding the contract.
After the kick-off meeting, Thompson, Wesley, Martha Mitchem, ACC-APG division chief, and Thomas Stocks, RS3/R2-3G program manager, spoke one-on-one with representatives from the contract awardees.
RS3 is a multiple award, indefinite delivery - indefinite quantity, performance based, services contract that provides customized, best - value solutions to a diverse group of organizations. Customer support benefits of RS3 include but are not limited to, no restrictive labor categories, flexibility, on-ramping and off-ramping capabilities, experienced and knowledgeable companies, and pre-award through post award support from the RS3 Program Office.
The RS3 contract has a $37.4B ceiling with a five-year base ordering period and five-year optional ordering period. Primary service areas for the contract are Engineering; Research, Development, Test and Evaluation; Logistics; Acquisition and Strategic Planning; and Education and Training Services.
The RS3 Program Office's mission is to provide federal and state government agencies and organizations with world-class program management and procurement services for their Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance and knowledge based professional engineering services mission requirements.
