Grafenwoehr, Germany (July 28, 2017) -- Soldiers from the 7th Army Training Command stood in formation at the Tower Barracks Physical Fitness Center, as Command Sgt. Maj. William L. Gardner assumes responsibility of the U.S. Army's largest training command in Europe.

Command Sgt. Maj. Robert Todd relinquished his temporary responsibilities as the 7th ATC command sergeant major to Gardner, a field artillery senior sergeant (13Z), July 28.

Gardner's most recently served as the I Corps fires sergeant major at Fort Lewis, Washington.

Gardner is no stranger to the 7th ATC as he once served as a senior fire support observer coach at the Joint Multinational Readiness Center at the Hohenfels Training Area, Germany.

"My vision is to support the commanding general's vision -- to use all the training tenants we can to provide that tough and realistic training here," said Gardner. "My expectations is to be a great neighbor to our German host and be a great ally to our friends and allies."
