Black Hawk Contracting Officer, Emily Crittenden, recently signed an award for a five- year production agreement between the U.S. Government and Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin Company.

The firm-fixed-price contract procures up to 360 aircraft totaling $5,157,130,917.00 through 2021.

"The impact in awarding this long-term contracting vehicle is quicker response to provide aircraft anywhere in the world to US and FMS customers, any time, on time," Michael Owens, Division Chief, said. "This Black Hawk contract provides Soldiers greater capacity in a challenging global environment."

The contract comes on the heels of the Black Hawk Multi-Year VIII which delivered 858 aircraft to the Army and the Navy.

"The negotiated position represents a savings of $822 million," Rebecca E. Weirick, Redstone Principal Assistant Responsible for Contracting, said. "More importantly, this contract provides our Army and global Foreign Military Sales customers with secure Black Hawk readiness for the next five years at a great price."

Significantly, the five-year contract creates cost savings and cost avoidance for the government.

"This Multi-Year long term contract allows for more flexibility operationally and a quicker contract timeline to deliver UH-60M Black Hawk's to our Army Aviators on the front lines," Col. Billy Jackson, Utility Helicopter Project Manager said. "This contract offers flexibility to the Utility Helicopters Project Office and PEO Aviation."
