CHAMBERSBURG, PA--Mr. Damian Bess has been appointed to the role of Deputy to the Commander at Letterkenny Army Depot. Depot Commander Col. Deacon Maddox made the selection based on Bess's extensive background of logistics and military management.

"Damian brings a wealth of knowledge and experience ranging from production to acquisition to personnel management," said Maddox. "He is a proven leader and will be a champion of the civilian workforce. I'm counting on Damian to bring his leadership skills and experience to bear the challenges facing the depot."

Maddox emphasized that Bess will be a great representative of the civilian workforce in the community.

Since July, 2015, Bess was the director of Public Works at the Depot where he successfully managed a $38 million indirect operating budget. His responsibilities included overseeing the depot operations plan, facilities improvement schedule and act as the lead coordinator with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in major construction projects.

Bess is a retired U.S. Marine Lt. Col. and has a Master's degree in Engineering Management.
