Building Confidence

Soldiers in Training with 3rd Battalion, 34th Infantry Regiment, known as the "Centennial Battalion," reached the half-way point of Basic Combat Training as they navigated the installation's confidence course, continued pugil stick training, prepared to throw hand grenades and craw under machine gun fire.

At the confidence course May 2, Alpha Company Soldiers had to learn balance, agility and strength as they went through a course meant to test their mental and physical stamina. The course required them to climb over obstacles like the weaver, step over of a beam with one food without using their hands and to cross an area by stepping on post of varying heights.

Next week, the Centennial Battalion will be firing machine guns at the Bastogne Range, throwing live hand grenades and move as a two-person buddy team to assault an objective.
