The Corps of Engineers is overseeing construction on the Automatic Vehicle Barrier at Wright Gate, Fort Myer, which began May 6 and will go through mid-June.
Construction will take place after hours and on select weekends and will cause temporary closures at Wright Gate and Marshall Drive.
Henderson Hall's Gate 1, at the corner of Southgate Road and South Orme Street, will be open to mitigate any Wright Gate closures: weekdays from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. (normally open from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m.) and weekends from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Pedestrian and bicycle access will NOT be available at Wright Gate during the temporary gate closures.
The dates and times of the closures are listed below:
Thursday 5/25/17: Gate closes at 5 p.m.
Friday 5/26/17: Gate opens at 5 a.m., closes at 5 p.m.
Tuesday 5/30/17: Gate opens at 5 a.m., closes at 5 p.m.
Thursday 6/1/17: Gate opens at 5 a.m., closes at 5 p.m.
Friday 6/2/17: Gate opens at 5 a.m., closes at 5 p.m.
Monday 6/5/17: Gate opens at 5 a.m., closes at 5 p.m.
Tuesday 6/6/17: Gate opens at 5 a.m., closes at 5 p.m.
Thursday 6/8/17: Gate opens at 5 a.m., closes at 5 p.m.
* Pedestrian and bicycle access will NOT be available at Wright Gate during the temporary gate closures.
* Weather conditions may shorten or extend the Wright Gate and Marshall Drive temporary closures.
