HUNTSVILLE, Alabama -- A U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command Reagan Test Site officer retired recently.

Lt. Col. James Smallwood, chief, SMDC RTS Space Operations Division, retired March 31 in Huntsville.

During the ceremony he received the Legion of Merit, an American flag, the Honorable Order of Saint Dominic, two three-star notes, one one-star note, a certificate of appreciation an eagle photo, and a certificate of retirement and pin.

Smallwood retires with almost 21 years of military service.
