The U.S. Army Medical Command (MEDCOM) was awarded the U.S. Army's Best Protection Program for fiscal year 2016.
In August 2016 the U.S. Army Headquarters G-34 completed a three-day assessment of MEDCOM's G-34 Protection Division. This triennial evaluation evaluated 366 benchmarks in the disciplines of Emergency Management, Continuity of Operations, Health Protection, Critical Infrastructure, Antiterrorism, Law Enforcement, Physical Security, Security Programs, Operations Security, Intelligence, Information Assurance, and Computer Network Defense. The composite score for the evaluation was calculated at 96% compliance.
MEDCOM's G-34 Protection Division received the award at the U.S. Army Worldwide Antiterrorism Conference in Lake Buena Vista, Florida in February. This is the first time MEDCOM has received this award.
"This award for Army Medicine G-34 Protection Division recognizes our day-to-day dedication and commitment to ensuring the safety and security of our personnel, facilities, and mission," said Dean Ross, Chief, U.S. Army Medical Command G-34 Protection Division.
