Army Officials Receive Cyber Update

FORT GEORGE G. MEADE, Md. -- Senior Army officials, including Karl Schneider, the senior official performing duties of the Under Secretary of the Army, and Army Lt. Gen. Paul Nakasone, commanding general of U.S. Army Cyber Command (ARCYBER), visited the 780th Military Intelligence Brigade (MI BDE) headquarters on Fort Meade, Feb. 28, to receive updates on ARCYBER's efforts in Department of Defense Information Network operations, and cyberspace operations conducted by the 780 MI BDE and the Cyber Protection Brigade based out of Fort Gordon, Ga.

Other senior Army officials included: Steffanie Easter, the Acting Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics and Technology) (ASA(ALT)) and the Acquisition Executive; Dr. David Markowitz, the Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff, G-8; Douglas Wiltsie, executive director, System of Systems Engineering and Integration Directorate, (ASA(ALT)); and Ronald Pontius, deputy to the commanding general, ARCYBER.

The 780th MI BDE conducts signals intelligence and cyberspace operations to create operational effects in and through the cyberspace domain to gain and maintain freedom of action required to support the Army and Joint requirements while denying the same to our adversaries.
