WIESBADEN, Germany -- U.S. Army Europe announced the winners of its 2016 Maj. Gen. Keith L. Ware Public Affairs competition.
The annual competition recognizes excellence in print, broadcast, community relations and new media by military and civilian employees from U.S. Army Europe major subordinate commands and direct reporting units. The contest is named for Maj. Gen. Keith L. Ware, a World War II Medal of Honor recipient and former Army Chief of Information, who was killed in action in Vietnam. The Army tradition of the Keith L. Ware competition dates back to 1970.
This year, visual information categories were added to the competition. Entries in all categories are judged for technical excellence in accordance with the objectives of the Department of the Army's internal information program.
"The level of talent displayed in this competition is testament to the proven professionalism and expertise of our Public Affairs Soldiers and civilians," said Col. Kathleen Turner, director of U.S. Army Europe Public Affairs. "Their commitment to the craft is what enables us to effectively share the Strong Europe message throughout the globe."
First-place winners will next represent U.S. Army Europe at the Department of the Army level of the competition.
