Blanchfield's pharmacy team recently implemented a concierge service at Fort Campbell's busiest pharmacy, the Town Center Pharmacy. The goal is to address patient needs up front and identify whether patients' prescriptions are on the formulary and available. This prevents patients from waiting for their number, only to find that the medication may not be available. The concierge may also call the prescribing physician to determine a substitution if possible.
With the Town Center Pharmacy being Fort Campbell's busiest pharmacy, adding the Concierge desk has seen a decrease in the overall wait times.
Beneficiaries enrolled to one of the Soldier or Patient-Centered Medical Homes are able to pick up their prescriptions at their medical home site. Multiple pharmacy options are available, giving patients options of picking up prescriptions.
