HQDA G-4 DIRECTORATES

The following is a description of the eight directorates within the Headquarters, Department of the Army, G-4.

LIG (Logistics Initiatives Group): Provide dedicated and responsive staff support to develop and communicate the DCS, G-4's strategic vision; to influence internal and external audiences in support of logistics based initiatives, actions, and programs.

G-43/5/7 (Operations): Integrates Strategic Army logistics functions in support of Defense Planning Guidance and the National Military Strategy to sustain Army Forces supporting Global Combatant Commanders. Coordinates Army planning, programming and policy implementation across the strategic logistics enterprise. Synchronizes Army Logistics capability during crisis action planning and contingency operations. Provides program oversight and operational integration of strategic mobility capabilities, Army prepositioned stocks, and global transportation requirements. Provides strategic risk assessment and readiness reporting to Joint OSD Staff IAW USC Title 10.

G-44M (Maintenance): Provide comprehensive sustainment capabilities (national through tactical) that enable ready forces over time through integrated maintenance and life cycle policies and programs.

G-44S (Supply): Establish Supply policies, resource Supply programs, and develop key logistics action plans in order to enable Total Army Readiness.

G-46 (Logistics Information Management): The Logistics Information Management Directorate (IM) provides DCS, G-4 Logistics Domain management oversight for policy, governance, investment strategy and technical requirements integration of logistics automated Business Mission and Warfighting Mission Area (BMA/WMA) information technology (IT) Single Army Logistics Enterprise and ERP systems. The Directorate conducts integrated and responsive coordination actions to ensure strategic, operational and tactical G-4 logistics IT system readiness, modernization, certifications, transition solution requirements, and migration plan decisions are effectively and efficiently costed, programmed, planned and operationalized IAW CSA (CMO & OBT), ACOM, ASCC, Joint and Expeditionary BMA and WMA Logistics Domain integrated architectures and schedules IAW mandated congressional compliancy standards and regulations.

G-48 (Resource Management): Perform and facilitate Sustainment Program Evaluation Group (PEG) responsibilities for the PPBE process. Perform budget execution and analysis, reprogramming and management control actions for the G4 family of funds. Provide contract management for Army G-4.

LIA (Logistics Innovation Agency): Assess, develop, and integrate innovative logistics policy, process, and program solutions in support of HQDA DCS, G-4 decisions and priorities.

RCI (Reserve Component Integration): Advises the DCS, G-4 and the G-4 staff on RC training, utilization, readiness, and mobilization. The ADCS for RCI also represents the DCS, G-4 at General Officer RC policy meetings and at other general officer functions as needed, contributes in the mobilization of RC units, both for exercises and Active Component support missions; assist in resolving mobilization issues and readiness. The ADCS for RCI maintains current knowledge of the DCS, G-4 programs and ensures relevant RC augmentation programs assigned to the DCS-G-4 provide the required consistency, pertinent and timely support.
