In today's society, there is an application for nearly everything readily accessible on our mobile devices. If you would like to check the weather, there's an app for that. If you wanted to find the closest coffee shop, there's an app for that as well. Now there is a free app specifically designed for service members and their families that links them directly to useful resources and information.
The Fort Bragg Army Community Service launched a mobile application available to service members and their families for free download Jan 9, 2017.
The application can be used by both new and existing customers for quick reference to the resources they already know, or for those who are new to the Fort Bragg area who needs help settling in.
"This app is in response to our desire to stay accessible to our military families. It is truly a product of our passion," said Charles Pennington, a Family Advocacy Program Specialist with ACS and co-producer of the application. "We want to be able to provide our service members, past and present, and their families with the information they need."
The Fort Bragg ACS app is available to Android and IOS users. It can be downloaded for free on the "App Store" and "Google Play."
Pennington said the app is convenient for all service members with no regards to rank. The app provides a listing of all programs available to assist our military families, office locations, as well as upcoming classes and events.
"It's common for people to get into a daily routine and forget what is available to them," said Pennington. "This app is able to remind service members of all the awesome programs we have available."
Military families can now connect with Fort Bragg Army Community Service with a click of an icon on their mobile devices no matter where they are or what time it is.
"We have a lot of service members who have visited us and been surprised by the variety of services we provide," said Audra Satterlee, a Marketing Specialist with ACS and co-producer of the application. "Sometimes they just aren't aware of everything we have to offer. Our services are truly here for the service members and their families, to assist them in any way possible whether it's tips on how to enhance their relationships with parenting tips and couples communication courses, financial or employment assistance, resilience training or services available for foreign-born spouses, we are here to help."
Every one of every rank can benefit from the resources which ACS offers. It doesn't matter if a Soldier has served for six months or six years, anyone can benefit from the services offered.
"The Fort Bragg ACS app is a great way to show our customers exactly what we offer," said Satterlee. "No matter where they may be, they are able to see that in addition to classes like Stress Management and financial assistance like the Credit Report Review and Repair class, there are programs like the Lending Closet, New Parent Support Program, Relocation Readiness, and Army Family Team Building, and Volunteer Services along with others here for them as well."
With the Fort Bragg ACS app, military families can access all Fort Bragg ACS program information, search through an interactive calendar of events and class details; and request a brief for their unit or sign up for a class directly from the app. Additionally, the app has direct links to the Fort Bragg ACS social media pages which keeps followers up-to-date on what ACS has to offer.
