Support units slated to arrive in Europe

WIESBADEN, Germany -- More than 900 Soldiers will arrive in Europe in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve during a nine-month rotation beginning in late March.

A combination of active duty, U.S. Army Reserve and Army National Guard Soldiers will perform combat sustainment support battalion tasks and will serve under the 16th Sustainment Brigade, 21st Theater Sustainment Command. The units will be based out of Poland and will provide postal, military police, ammunition handling and other logistical support across eastern Europe to the rotational units participating in Operation Atlantic Resolve.

"The deployment of this multi-component sustainment brigade shows how the United States Army integrates National Guard, Army Reserve, and Active Army units," said Lt. Gen. Ben Hodges, U.S. Army Europe commander. "These sustainment forces will provide world-class (heel to toe) logistical support to U.S. Army Europe, the Regionally Aligned Forces and our allies and partners across Europe as we conduct exercises and training as part of Operation Atlantic Resolve."

Headquarters company, 497th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, U.S. Army Reserve, Salem, Va., and headquarters company, 330th Movement Control Battalion, Fort Bragg, N.C., will serve as the headquarters units to provide logistics support to units deployed throughout eastern Europe.

Also deploying under this combat sustainment support battalion construct will be the 742nd Support Maintenance Company, Army National Guard, from Eastover, S.C.; a modular ammunition platoon from the 962nd Ordnance Company, U.S. Army Reserve, Plattsburgh, N.Y.; the 227th Quartermaster Composite Supply Company, Fort Campbell, Ky.; a Petroleum Oils and Lubricants (POL) truck platoon from the 325th Truck Company, U.S. Army Reserve, Taunton, Mass.; and the 32nd Truck Company (Heavy), Fort Carson, Colo.
