Corpus Christi Army Depot promoted from within its own civilian corps recently to fill its highest civilian vacancy.
Depot commander Col. Allan Lanceta confirmed that Mark Wagner, previously the depot's director of Resource Management, has been selected as the depot's next Deputy to the Commander.
The Deputy to the Commander position is the highest civilian leadership role at the helicopter maintenance facility. Wagner joined CCAD in 2015 with a broad range of financial management experience gained in the private sector and in the Department of Defense.
Wagner is currently working with depot leaders and the workforce to balance and transition the depot to deliver optimal helicopter products, training and support for every defense mission it's called to support.
Since its inception in 1961, CCAD has grown to become the largest tenant organization on Naval Air Station Corpus Christi, of which Coast Guard Sector Corpus Christi is also a tenant.
CCAD makes up more than 58 acres, 2.3 million square feet of industrial space and 60 buildings and hangars, many of which have gone largely unchanged since they were built in 1941.
