USAG DAEGU -- The holiday season for 2016 has officially started in Area IV after the Christmas tree lighting at Camp Walker. To celebrate the holiday with everyone, United States Army Garrison Daegu hosted a Holiday Gala on December 10 at Hotel Novotel Ambassador, Daegu. Everyone from the community was welcome to join. This was the first time members of the Garrison gathered like this to celebrate the end of the year.

"It is near the end of 2016, and I wanted to have good memories with my team before I leave Daegu," said Sgt. Jang, Seung-Hyun, USAG Daegu chaplain assistant.

Not only the Garrison people attended this event. Our friends from the Republic of Korea Army and 19th Expeditionary Sustainment Command also attended this event.

"This was a great experience for me. I hope I can apply this experience to my career when I become higher-ranked officer in Republic of Korea Army", said Capt. Lee, Byung-Joo, KATUSA commander of USAG Daegu Headquarters, Headquarters Company.

Soldiers from the 19th ESC came up with a band and had a wonderful performance at the Garrison Gala.

"This kind of event is not common in Korea, so I was curious and nervous. But it was great," said Jang. "I really enjoyed everything. My favorite part was when everyone came up front and danced altogether. I never had chance to experience party like this in Korea, and I think this is awesome."
