The 8th TSC Command Team would like to wish everyone a safe and prosperous holiday season. In that spirit, our goal for our 8th TSC Family is to remain loss-free throughout the holidays by conveying to our Family members, Soldiers and Civilian employees that we are counting on them to return safely.

Although we are continually driven to accomplish our daily missions, it is also very important that we take valuable time to enjoy the holiday season safely with family and friends. During this special time of year, please remember the sacrifices of our Soldiers and Civilians deployed around the world and their families back at home. As we look forward to the new year we must reflect on our accomplishments in 2016 and strive to make 2017 an even safer year.

A number of you will be traveling, and we would like to remind everyone that it only takes a split second of inattentiveness to turn a festive journey into a tragedy. If you are leaving the island and returning stateside, remember that winter driving has it's own set of hazards. Take time to prepare the vehicle that you are operating or riding in by cleaning the headlights, taillights, signal lights, and windows as often as necessary. Use your headlights in inclement weather, reduce speed and increase following distances. Utilize a "Hands Free" device and always enforce the wear of seatbelts for all occupants while in a moving vehicle.

It is also a season for social gatherings, which often involves the consumption of alcohol, so remember that moderation is the best practice. New Year's Eve is notorious for drunk driving. We ask that you keep yourself and your loved ones safe by NOT operating a vehicle after drinking alcohol. If you consume alcohol, leave the keys with a designated driver, call a "Battle Buddy", use your unit Drunk Driver prevention program, or arrange for transportation ahead of time. In preparation for the holidays, we must entrust every member of team TSC to do his or her part in protecting the force. We expect to bring every member of our team back from the holidays rejuvenated and ready to achieve our 2017 missions. 2016 has been a wonderful year! We are proud to be part of this great team, and we would like to express our sincere gratitude for all that you do as a member of this organization. Have a Safe and Happy Holiday Season!
