Tripler Army Medical Center Ohana attended Humanitarian Assistance Relief Training (HART) at Ford Island, HI Dec. 2. The training provided details, coordination, and concept of operations planning for response of Humanitarian Assistance to an affected state. There were Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) from World Food Program (WFP), Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA) and Foreign Aid to name a few. They spoke on policy and procedure, the resources and organizations available, who heads the relief efforts and what role the military supports during a disaster.
