HONOLULU (Oct. 17) --- Regional Health Command-Pacific, also known as RHC-P, conducted a half-day team training event where organizational leaders located in Hawaii and Joint Base Lewis McChord, Washington State, came together via virtual telecommunication to better the organization.

Comprehensive Soldier and Family Fitness Lead Master Resilience Trainer-Performance Expert, Jesse Michel, led the session and facilitated discussion on the Hawaii-side of the staff.

"The staff on both sides of the ocean identified the common foundation, in terms of the qualities and characteristics that are going to make this team great and also identified action items how are they going to get there," said Michel.

RHC-P team member and Deputy G-3, Johnny Garnett, participated in the training from the Joint Base Lewis McChord site and stated that he found the training dynamic and interactive, as well as serving to further enhance staff cohesiveness.

"With a very diverse yet seasoned staff, the instructors systematically depicted similarities in "common core" values defined by the RHC-P HQ Staff. Superb instruction, conducted in an informal, structured setting and complemented by open discussions in a non-attribution milieu," stated Garnett.

Following the conclusion of the session, RHC-P Commanding General, Brig. Gen. Bertram Providence, thanked staff for their participation in the training and provided an insight into the next steps.

"When it comes to improving our effectiveness, we must continually adopt the mentality that there is no finish line. Every time we advance and get better, there will still remain an opportunity to further our progress. We owe such a commitment to excellence to ourselves and the beneficiaries that entrust their healthcare to us every day," stated Providence.
