Two of the South Atlantic Division's brightest talent earned distinct honors during a Regional Leadership Development Program graduation ceremony held Oct. 4 at division offices in Atlanta.

SAD Training Officer Michelle Domescek emerged as champion and lead organizer while Courtney Perry of the Mobile District was recognized by her peers with the Alex Van Heuvel award, an honor which recognizes a team member's outstanding contribution to the class.

Dubbed "Team IMPACT," a total of 14 graduates surfaced as the federal service's newest leaders.

SAD Deputy Commander Col. Donnie Walker and SAD Regional Business Director Dr. Larry McCallister presided over the ceremony, which included a graduate group presentation on a class project covering knowledge management.

Graduates developed three tools to assist the organization in retaining vital information and knowledge as team members retire or move to new positions. These practical tools provide concrete knowledge management methodology that can be adapted for use by all programs to capture vital institutional memory and facilitate succession of employees.

The 2016 graduating class included members from the SAD division and district levels, and professionals from external agencies such as the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Tennessee Valley Authority, and U.S. Forest Service.

Members of this year's class are:

Charleston District: Tracy Sanders and John Szep

Jacksonville District: Matt Cunningham, Tony Jones, and Amy Thompson

Mobile District: Courtney Perry

Savannah District: Steven Bath and Tommy Rose

Wilmington District: Adam Faircloth and Tracey Wheeler

South Atlantic Division: Mike Riegert

US Fish and Wildlife: Silmarie Padron

US Forest Service: Steve Bekkerus

Tennessee Valley Authority: Anthony Summitt
