FORT BENNING, Ga., (Sept. 28, 2016) -- The Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation held the annual Fall Flea Market Sept. 24 on Stilwell Field.
Soldiers, civilian employees and their families had the opportunity to see what vendors had to offer, which included woodcut furniture, jewelry, clothing, beauty products and hand-sewn pillows.
Angela Love, a first-time vendor, sold her decorative homemade crochet pillows.
"The flea market has been pretty good," Love said. "Got a lot of traffic today, a lot of people coming through."
Love explained that she heard about the Flea Market through MWR.
Chris Lee was also a first time vendor at the market.
"It was pretty well organized," Lee said. "I would do this again."
Lee explained that he came to the Fall Flea Market last year to look and, through word of mouth, heard about the opportunity to be a vendor at the market.
Shawn Samuelson, a fashion consultant, sold jewelry. It was also her first time at the market.
"I actually drove from Fayetteville, near the Atlanta area," Samuelson said. "We had a very good turnout today."
Samuelson praised the organization of the Fall Flea Market.
"I loved the whole layout of it," Samuelson said. "Everyone has been super nice."
Samuelson added that she would sell her jewelry at the flea market again.
