NATICK, Mass. -- The U.S. Army Natick Soldier Research, Development and Engineering Center hosted Vice Chief of Staff of the Army Gen. Daniel B. Allyn on Sept. 13.

The visit focused on the innovative, cutting-edge research being performed at NSRDEC, including body armor, textiles/fibers, combat feeding, aerial delivery, shelters, expeditionary basing and collective protection, biomechanics and cognitive science.

General Allyn also received a demonstration of the Black Hornet Soldier-borne sensor, a hand-held Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance, or ISR, device originally developed by Prox Dynamics and modified by NSRDEC engineers for Soldier and small unit applications.

The U.S. Army Natick Soldier Research, Development and Engineering Center is part of the U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command, which has the mission to ensure decisive overmatch for unified land operations to empower the Army, the joint warfighter and our nation.
