HONOLULU - United States Army Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Miley met with Hawaii Governor David Ige August 22, 2016, at the Hawaii State Capitol. During their meeting in the governor's chamber, the two leaders discussed the Total Army (Active, Guard, Reserves) in the Pacific, and the continuing state support shown to the Army in Hawaii.

Miley is in Hawaii visiting installations, meeting with Soldiers and getting briefed on continuing Army efforts in the Asia Pacific region.

Hawaii is the last stop of the general's Asia Pacific tour with stops in Japan, South Korea, and China where he explored opportunities to deepen cooperation with the People's Liberation Army.
