An Army Contracting Command Soldier will get a chance to try out for the All-Army golf team.

Staff Sgt. Timothy McMillian was selected for the 2016 All-Army golf trial camp at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. McMillian is assigned to the 916th Contracting Battalion, Joint Base San Antonio -- Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

Every year, the All-Army sports department hosts sporting competitions to select the Soldiers who will represent the Army in the annual All-Armed Forces competitions.

"My goals heading into this year's competition are to qualify for the Counseil International du Sport Militaire and finish in the top 6 at the All-Armed Forces Championship" said McMillian. "If I avoid putting too much pressure on myself then I think this is a very realistic goal, as I am as good as anyone playing in the military. "

McMillian previously competed for a position on the team in 2007, 2008, 2012 and 2014. He was selected for the team in team in 2012 and 2014. In 2014, the Army team defeated the Air Force team for the first time since 2003, ending Air Force's 11-year run as All-Armed Forces champions.

Of the six Soldiers that were on the team that year, four will be back for this year's trial camp.

According to Armed Forces Sports website, the International Military Sports Council or Conseil International du Sport Militaire was established 1948. It is the second largest multi-sport discipline organization, after the International Olympic Committee, and conducts more than 20 competitions annually. CISM has 133 member countries and aims to promote sport activity and physical education between armed forces as a means to foster world peace.
