FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. --- Colonel Kimberly J. Daub, the first female brigade commander in the history of the 101st Airborne Division, relinquished command of the 101st Abn. Div. Sustainment Brigade "Lifeliners," 101st Abn. Div. (Air Assault), to Col. Stanley J. Sliwinski Jr. during a change of command ceremony, July 8.

Lifeliners, Family members and friends watched as Brig. Gen. Scott Brower, acting senior commander for 101st Abn. Div. (Air Assault), facilitated the passing of the Lifeliner brigade colors in keeping with the highest of military tradition at Sabo Physical Fitness Center on Fort Campbell, Ky.

Command Sgt. Maj. Michael J. Perry, command sergeant major for the Lifeliner brigade, dismounted the brigade colors from the color bearer, Pfc. Jalon D. Veasey, and handed them to Daub to signify her last allegiance as the senior leader of the brigade. Daub then passed the colors to Brower, signifying the return of command assigned to her. Brower then passed the colors to Sliwinski entrusting the responsibility of command the brigade to him. Last, Sliwinski handed the colors back to Perry in order to complete the passing of the colors symbolizing his first act as the Lifeliner senior leader.

Daub, who entered the Lifeliner family in 2014, demonstrated her capabilities by deploying the brigade to Liberia during Operation United Assistance as part of the United States response to fight Ebola in October of that same year.

During her time in command, the Lifeliner brigade re-designated as the 101st Abn. Div. Sust. Bde. and donned the 101st Abn. Div. patch also known as "Old Abe." The 129th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion assisted the different units throughout Fort Campbell during their Joint Readiness Training Complex rotations, and participated in a successful Sea Emergency Deployment Readiness Exercise.

"I can't imagine that there was a time when we did not have the sustainment brigade as part of the Division. Creating a cultural shift of this magnitude in such a short period of time is no small feat and is something all of the Lifeliners should be very proud of," said Bower during his speech.

The Ridgewood, N.J. native will continue her service in Washington, D.C. working on the U.S Army Staff for the Army Logistics.

"Kim, thank you so much for leading this great team. Your accomplishments stand before you today. I hope that as you walk off, away from this formation, you take great pride on what has been achieved under your watch," said Brower.

After Brower completed his remarks about the brigade, and incoming and outgoing commander. Daub spoke to guests, family members and Soldiers of the Lifeliner brigade.

"I am overwhelmed with a sense of pride and humility to be afforded the opportunity to have commanded this great brigade and to serve with the Soldiers standing in formation. These Soldiers have been and are the "lifeline" of this Division. Thank you to all the Soldiers in the brigade for the hard work in support of the Division and the sacrifices you and your families make to serve our great Army," said Daub.

While Daub ends her time Sliwinski, who previously served as Acquisitions and Logistics Team Chief in the Office of Business Transformation in Washington, D.C., will begin his journey with the Lifeliner brigade.

Sliwinski, a Trenton, N.J. native, is no stranger to Screaming Eagle family as he served as the Division's Transportation Officer and deployed with the 2nd Brigade Combat Team "Strike," 101st Abn. Div. in 2005.

"I would personally like to thank General Volesky for giving me the privilege to command the Lifeliner brigade. I feel truly honored and humbled," said Sliwinski during his speech. "I am excited to be part of this Lifeliner team as we prepare for our next rendezvous with destiny
