June 28, 2016 1 / 2 CPT Lizama was born in West Covina, California. He graduated from Seattle University with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice/Criminology. He commissioned as Second Lieutenant in the Signal Corps in June 2009 through Seattle University's Army ROTC.After completing the Signal Officer Basic Course (OBC) at Fort Gordon, GA, he was assigned to 51st Signal Battalion (Expeditionary) at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM), WA. In 2010, he deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) with Bravo Company, 51st Signal Battalion (Expeditionary). Upon completing the Signal Captains Career Course in 2013, he was assigned to 1st Battalion (Airborne), 501st Infantry at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER), AK.CPT Lizama's prior assignments include the following: Platoon Leader for Bravo Company, 51st Signal Battalion (Expeditionary), JBLM, WA and Kandahar, Afghanistan; Executive Officer for Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 51st Signal Battalion (Expeditionary), JBLM, WA, and Battalion S6 for 1st Battalion (Airborne), 501st Infantry, JBER, AK.CPT Lizama's awards and decorations include the Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with two campaign stars, Global War on Terror Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Army Overseas Service Ribbon, NATO Medal, and the German Proficiency Badge.He is married and has one child.

He has served in every leadership position from Team Chief to First Sergeant.His assignments have included D Co, 327th Signal Battalion (Airborne) at Fort Bragg, NC; B Co, 3D Psychological Operations Battalion (A) (D) at Fort Bragg, NC; C Co, 440th Signal Battalion, Darmstadt, Germany; A Co, 307th Signal Battalion, Fort Richardson, Alaska, B Co 447th Signal Battalion (AIT Platoon Sergeant), Fort Gordon, Georgia, HSC, 4th Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group (A), Fort Lewis, Washington and recently served as the First Sergeant of A Co 51st Signal Battalion (E), Fort Lewis, Washington.During these assignments, 1SG Demick deployed four times in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF), Operations Joint Guard/ Joint Endeavor, and counter insurgency operations in South East Asia.1SG Demick's military and civilian education includes all NCOES schools through the Senior Leader's Course, various advanced communication courses, Airborne, Air Assault, CWLC, Combatives, Special Forces Basic Combat Course Support and several other military schools.
