SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. (May 27, 2016) -- As an estimated 100,000 visitors gathered for "Thunder Over the Midlands" May 21-22, crowds examined Army gear such as thermal weapon sights, tactical vests and uniforms, night-vision goggles and Meals Ready-to-Eat.
Eight noncommissioned officers from the U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command convened at the 2016 Shaw AFB Air Expo to showcase how Army civilian scientists and engineers empower Soldiers.
"There were good interactions with other Service members and especially with the public. It was a good event to show what RDECOM does to support our Warfighters," said Sgt. 1st Class Glominio De Leon, with RDECOM headquarters.
The RDECOM NCOs who participated were DeLeon and Sgt. James Noggle, with RDECOM headquarters; Sgt. 1st Class William Dressel and Sgt. 1st Class Jose Andrade, with Army Communications-Electronics Research, Development and Engineering Center; Staff Sgt. David Hoisington and Staff Sgt. Mason Truss, with Army Research Laboratory; Staff Sgt. Anthony Sandoval and Sgt.
