VICENZA, Italy -- Save the date! United States Army Garrison Italy's guest speaker series brings Vince Houghton to the Vicenza Military Community June 6-8.
Houghton is the historian and curator at the International Spy Museum in Washington. He will present a series of talks about the intelligence field. Topics will include scientific and technological intelligence, in which he will discuss cryptography, technological espionage and more; intelligence organization such as the Office of Strategic Services and Central Intelligence Agency; and intelligence in wartime, where he will share information about traditional military intelligence, covert operations and more.
The historian specializes in military and intelligence history, with specific expertise on late-World War II and early-Cold War eras. Before beginning his tenure at the spy museum, Houghton was a history professor at the University of Maryland. He also served in the U.S. Army.
