PICATINNY ARSENAL, N.J. -- Former NASA Astronaut Garrett Reisman kicked off the 14th Anniversary Association of the United States Golf Outing in honor of his late father, Robert Reisman. The elder Reisman was a noted armaments engineer who worked at Picatinny Arsenal for many years.

His scholarship will be awarded to a Seton Hall Army ROTC cadet.

He was a part of Expedition 16 aboard the International Space Station as Expedition 17. He has flown aboard the Space Shuttles Discovery and Atlantis.

In 2011, Reisman left NASA for SpaceX as a senior engineer working on astronaut safety and mission assurance. He is currently Direct or Crew Operation. He is working with NASA to prepare SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket and Dragon spacecraft to carry astronauts.

He has been interviewed live from space on the Colbert Report and filmed a cameo appearance as a "Colonial Marine" for the series finale episode of Battlestar Galactica.
