FORT LEE, Va. (April 14, 2016) -- The Occupational Health team at Kenner Army Health Clinic is scheduled to host an Occupational Health Nurses Week celebration Wednesday, 10 a.m. - noon, in the first floor break room of the facility.

Occupational Health Nurses Week is a national observance to recognize and celebrate members of the occupational and environmental health nursing profession.

OHC staffers make a special effort to reach out to the workforce at Fort Lee to offer blood pressure and vision screenings, ergonomic demonstrations, nutrition options, respiratory protection, hearing loss prevention, information on workplace stress and other potential work hazardous exposure programs during this special week.

The American Association of Occupational Health Nurses describes an occupational health nurse as one who "provides for and delivers health and safety programs and services to workers, worker populations and community groups."

The Occupational Health Clinic provides guidance and establishes procedures for the conduct of the Occupational Health Program at KAHC. The services are applicable to all federal civilian employees and active duty military personnel in hazardous industrial positions.

Occupational Health nurses cannot keep workers safe and healthy without partnering with the safety managers and industrial hygienist at Fort Lee. The team will join us at the event to help promote healthy lifestyles and keep workers safe.
