On 18 March 2016, Mr. Frank Kendall, Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics, approved the LMP Increment 2 FDD to field Wave 3 functionality to the remaining 14 Army organic industrial base (OIB) sites and delegated Full Deployment to Army Materiel Command (AMC). (The LMP delivered Limited Fielding of Wave 3 functionality to three pilot sites in June 2015.) This was the final major milestone to allow the LMP Increment 2 to fully Go-Live on 23 May 2016 to 14,000 users across the AMC OIB.

Among other enhanced functionality, the LMP Increment 2 primarily automates the shop floor. It creates electronic work instructions, improves capacity planning and scheduling, and supports Enterprise Equipment Master, Plant Maintenance, and Item Unique Identification capabilities. The Ammunition Automatic Identification Technology solution replaces current legacy functionality, and is designed to fully leverage the Enterprise investment in Extended Warehouse Management. It also provides expanded maintenance capability to workload Army installation Logistics Readiness Centers for maintenance and repair of AMC-owned materiel.

The Full Fielding approval and Full Deployment delegation is the culmination of much hard work and many hours of planning, preparing, and executing on deliverables for both the customer and LMP leadership. The march forward to finalize Increment 2 continues the tradition of what the LMP set out to do nearly 15 years ago -- to provide "World-Class Logistics Readiness for Warfighter Support."
