HONOLULU - On March 18, 2016, Tripler Army Medical Center, Honolulu, Hawaii, hosted Maj Gen Koji Fukushima, Surgeon General, Japan Air Self Defense Force (JASDF) and MAJ Toru Konoshi, Staff Officer, JASDF.
The distinguished visitors received in-depth briefings from Tripler's Joint Patient Liaison Office (JPLO) and the Interdisciplinary Pain Management Clinic (IPMC).
The visitors learned about the JPLO process beginning initiation of movement, through provision of care, culminating with a return to home station, with active tracking of patients through the Pacific Asynchronous Tele Health (PATH) program.
At IPMC they learned about the use of Eastern medicine to alleviate chronic pain. Tripler staff discussed and demonstrated the services provided by the IPMC.
The visitors expressed gratitude for the level of detail and service provided for their visit.
