PICATINNY ARSENAL, N.J. -- Frank Petrosillo, left, mechanical engineer, explains how welded steel parts create the CROWS Vehicle Integration Kit during The Canadian Royal Artillery School tour on March 3 of Picatinny Arsenal's Machine Shop. The Common Remotely Operated Weapon System Vehicle Integration Kit is a large steel structure that can mount CROWS, a system that helps to engage targets, to any vehicle, such as the M1A2 Abrams tank.
On their day-long tour, the 30 school members also visited the arsenal's Fuze Development Center, Soft Catch Facility, and its Automated Direct/Indirect Mortar Lab. In addition, the group was briefed on different artillery science and technology programs, the digitization on the M119A3, as well as the Objective Gunner Protection Kit. This is the second year that the school visited Picatinny.
