Vicenza CYS basketball team takes IMCOM Europe title

HOHENFELS, Germany -- Child & Youth Services Sports scored a big win with the Vicenza Celtics, the juniors basketball team, during the IMCOM-Europe tournament March 5-6.

The team traveled to Hohenfels to compete in a double-elimination tournament, where they emerged victorious with four straight wins to become the IMCOM-E Juniors Basketball champions. The Celtics played three tough games March 5, defeating U.S. Army Garrison Ansbach, Aviano Air Base, and USAG Bavaria. On March 6, the Celtics played for the championship against Ansbach, who had fought their way back through the loser's bracket. The team defeated Ansbach for a second time to become the 2016 IMCOM-E champions. The team had an undefeated season with seven wins and remained undefeated with the four tournament victories.

Team members include Chamond Williams, Christian Williams, Paige Czarnich, Cameron Cao, Lily Knapp, Connor Cates, Dominic Randazzo, David Paulin, Raashard Tucker and Bridget Craig. The team was coached by Jeffrey Craig and Penny Williams.
