REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. (February 23, 2016) -- U.S. Army Redstone Test Center Commander, COL Patrick Mason spoke on behalf of Redstone Arsenal as J. E. Williams Elementary Boys and Girls Club celebrated the dedication of a STEM Center of Innovation sponsored by Raytheon Tuesday, February 23, 2016 from 4 -- 6 p.m.
"Offering these types of programs at schools in our community supports the foundation of what makes Huntsville and Madison County one of the nation's leaders in the aerospace defense industry," Mason said. "I commend companies like Raytheon as they partner with phenomenally dedicated organizations like the Boys and Girls Club to create an environment in our school system where passions are ignited for STEM-related career opportunities," he said.
Thanks to the sponsorship by Raytheon, the STEM Center of Innovation at Williams Elementary has an educator solely dedicated to ensuring that this classroom remains engaging and exciting for the students.
This STEM Center of Innovation offers high-quality, technology-based programs and access to technology to support military youth attending the J.E. Williams Boys and Girls Club with skills to excel in achieving academic goals and inspire them to pursue STEM-based careers.
