ANSBACH, Germany (Feb. 19, 2016) -- As part of a garrison employee all-hands meeting at the Bismarck Theater today, many U.S. Army Garrison Ansbach employees received recognition for their decades of federal service.

Several other employees received other awards of recognition, including the Commander's Award for Civilian Service, the Achievement Medal for Civilian Service, the Garrison Certificate of Achievement, and the Garrison Certificate of Appreciation.

Col. Christopher M. Benson, USAG Ansbach commander, and Master Sgt. Stephen Wendt, first sergeant of Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, presented awardees with their certificates and awards of achievement and appreciation. Thomas Deffner, deputy mayor of the city of Ansbach; Heinrich Förster, mayor of Illesheim; and Suzie Pabler, works council chairperson, helped present the Career Service Certificates to those employees who have been with the Army or federal service for 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 years.

Benson thanked the awardees and all other garrison employees for "what you do and the contributions you make to the community."

"My hat's off to you because I couldn't be more proud to be commander of USAG Ansbach and seeing what you do each and every day," said Benson.

In addition to the certificates recognizing USAG Ansbach employees for lengths of service, Deffner presented local national employees the Bavarian Certificate of Honor, signed by the Bavarian minister of state for labor and social affairs, Emilia Müller.
