FORT BENNING, Ga., (Jan. 27 2016) -- In order to meet the military regional security education requirement, the Maneuver Center of Excellence hosts bi-monthly Regional Security Discussions in Derby or Fenty auditoriums in McGinnis-Wickham Hall from noon-1 p.m.
"Regional Security Discussion lectures are an interactive event for Soldiers and civilians to engage in meaningful conversations about global topics and issues relevant to the U.S. Army," said Jenny Meier, instructional systems specialist with the Directorate of Training and Doctrine. "We conduct in-house discussions with subject matter experts - namely liaison officers and other international soldiers currently stationed at the MCoE.
"These briefings provide Soldiers with the necessary information to make informed decisions on a specific region of the world. This information can help a Soldier make career decisions, apply strategic analysis or make predictions regarding the Army's role in future missions."
The majority of attendees include students from the Infantry and Armor Basic Officer Leader courses and Maneuver Captains Career Course, but anyone is welcome to attend.
To receive reminders about the lectures, contact Jenny Meier at jenny.l.meier.civ@mail.mil to be added to the email distribution list.
