
Several summer internships for college students are creating Pathways for professional development in the public sector at the Corpus Christi Army Depot.
The Army Pathways Internship Program allows students to be exposed to the work of the Government through Federal internships while pursuing their degree.
CCAD is taking applications for summer interns in the areas of Information Technology (IT), Engineering, Financial Management and Business Management.
Students are encouraged to visit USAJobs.gov to learn more and to apply if they qualify. Applications are due by 29 February 2016. All applicants must apply through the website to be considered.
These internships, designed not to exceed 120 days, are full-time salaried positions with the Department of the Army. Pathways interns will work alongside permanent federal employees, industrial partners, and military aviators.
Interns will be sought to work at every grade (GS-03, GS-04, GS-05) for each career field with base salaries beginning at $25,731 for GS-03 interns. Interns can make up to $45,218 per year however, depending on their college experience:
GS-03 interns have completed one full academic year of post-high school study. The expected annual salary range is $25,731-$33,450.
GS-04 interns have completed two full academic years of post-high school study. The expected annual salary range is $28,886-$37,551.
GS-05 interns have completed four academic years of post-high school study leading to a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree. The expected annual salary range is $36,740-$45,218.
Positions are open to current students in an accredited college (including 4-year colleges/universities, community colleges, and junior colleges); professional, technical, vocational, and trade school; advanced degree programs; or other qualifying educational institution pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate.
Interns must provide proof of enrollment; notify the agency of any change in enrollment status and/or work schedule; maintain at least a half-time course load as defined by the educational institution; remain in good academic standing; adhere to an established work schedule; adhere to the intern program requirements; participate in agency training classes or programs; perform, successfully, the assigned duties listed in their position descriptions; and observe all workplace rules.
