Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) teams at the Naval Air Station Corpus Christi (NASCC) military base are coming together to support survivors and victims of sexual assault, January 27.
The SAPR teams from NASCC and two of their tenants, Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) and Marine Aviation Training Support Group-22 (MATSG-22) will start off their 2016 campaign by displaying bedsheets on the installation to represent sexual assault.
Called the Steps Towards Recovery Sheet, people are encouraged to show their support to the survivors and victims of assault by writing notes of encouragement, hope and strength on the bedsheets.
Sheets will be available throughout the military base. People are welcome to write on the Steps Towards Recovery Sheets in CCAD's Building 8 Subway Hall, the NASCC Health Clinic, or in MATSG-22. NAS Kingsville will also have a recovery sheet on display. Messages should be kept anonymous and remain respectful to the project.
Notes will be displayed on the morning of the inaugural Joint Services Sexual Assault Awareness Run, held on the NASCC installation, scheduled for April 1, 2016.
