ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, Md. (Jan. 14, 2016) -- The U.S. Army has opened registration for the Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) Integrated Product Team (IPT) taking place March 8-10, 2016. The IPT event is open to Government personnel and Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) contractors only.
The PNT IPT serves as the forum for the System of Systems Engineering and Integration Directorate (SoSE&I) and the Direct Reporting Program Manager, Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PM PNT) to provide the domain and functional expertise to ensure the production of a PNT System of Systems Architecture, which enables the identification of solutions to reduce PNT requirement inefficiencies/redundancies, decrease Warfighter vulnerabilities, and provide an affordable migration path to future PNT technologies.
The IPT facilitates collaboration among the PNT community to align capabilities and continue planning for the transition to Assured PNT and M-Code solutions. This includes conducting system engineering activities, coordinating PNT schedules across the Army, and gathering data for Assured PNT requirements development and acquisition planning.
PNT is a critical dependency to Army capabilities with technologies that cut across all of the portfolios within ASA(ALT). PM PNT and SoSE&I are coordinating across ASA(ALT) portfolios and working with the Program Executive Offices and Army program managers to enable an enterprise approach to PNT. This synchronized approach will give the Army and other services the ability to outpace threats and increase efficiencies in PNT implementation.
