For Spc. Charles Smith, Staff Sgt. Yolisma Cisneros and Spc. Marc Lopez, who were working at the Baumholder Installation Duty Office on Christmas Day, Santa Claus showed up bearing goodies and a little technology. Kimberly Chromicz, assistant station manager for the local Red Cross and several Red Cross volunteers, showed up while they were on duty and presented them with gift packages from Amazon. The packages included several goodies and an Amazon Fire HD6 tablet.

Each package also included snacks, coffee and a personalized note from the Amazon employee who packaged it.

Amazon donated 2,000 of these gift packages filled with goodies to share with the men and women in uniform working Christmas Day. The packages were sent to Red Cross offices across Europe, the Far East, Kuwait and Djibouti for distribution.

The Baumholder Red Cross received 50 of the 2,000 packages to distribute throughout the installation to Soldiers on duty Christmas Day.

"We are proud to partner with Amazon in support of U.S. military personnel serving overseas and are very pleased and grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a generous gift from Amazon," said Chromicz.

The American Red Cross serves and supports members of the military, veterans, and their families by providing needed emergency communications for military families in crisis. Other Red Cross services include giving support to the wounded, ill and injured in military and veteran's health care facilities across the country and overseas; and helping military families cope with the challenges of military life.
