WEST POINT, N.Y. (Dec. 17, 2015) -- U.S. Military Academy at West Point Football head coach Jeff Monken and the Army football program have announced the upcoming schedules for the 2016 and 2017 seasons, Dec. 17.
The 2016 slate is road heavy in the first month of the season. The Black Knights return to Lincoln Financial Field on Sept. 3 against Temple, followed by the home opener against Rice on Sept. 10.
After the Rice contest, Army heads out on the road for its next three games. The Black Knights will travel to Texas for the second straight season with a visit to UTEP on Sept. 17. They remain in New York for their matchup at Buffalo on Sept. 24 prior to the bye week. Army closes out the road swing with a visit to Duke on Oct. 8.
Army will enjoy home cooking for four of the next six weeks. The stretch starts with home games against Lafayette on Oct. 15 and North Texas on Oct. 22. After a visit to Wake Forest on Oct. 29, the Black Knight welcome service-academy rival Air Force on Nov. 5.
One of the highlights of the season comes on Nov.12 in San Antonio, Texas, as the Black Knights will take on Notre Dame for the first time since 2010. The game is part of the Fighting Irish's Shamrock Series and is set to be played in the Alamodome.
The Black Knights close out the home slate the next week with a visit from Morgan State on Nov. 19 for Senior Day.
The Army-Navy Game presented by USAA moves back to Baltimore, Md., and is scheduled for Dec. 10 at M&T Bank Stadium.
