U.S. Army South Reintegration Rehearsal of Concept Drill

December 11, 2015 1 / 2 Keith Stansell, one of former hostages by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, a guerrilla group known by its Spanish acronym FARC, is a beneficiary of the reintegration program after his rescue and was brought back to Fort Sam Houston. During the rehearsal, Stansell shared some of his experience during captivity and reintegration and how the program helped him transition into normal life. He also thanked the people who were there for him during the reintegration process which he stressed, "made a big difference in his transition to normal life." VIEW ORIGINAL 2 / 2 Retired Lt. Gen. Keith Huber, former Army South commanding general, spoke to participants about his experience with the reintegration process and what it takes to create an environment that will assist the returnee in the transition process. "To me, it is not a question of who is the lead agency," stressed Huber. "It's a question of how do you develop unity of effort and the need for commonality of expectation. The commonality of the organizations must be focused on the returnee." VIEW ORIGINAL
U.S. Army South along with other military, government and civilian agencies participated in a semi-annual Reintegration Rehearsal of Concept Drill at Fort Sam Houston Dec. 7-11. Representatives of each agency discussed and rehearsed their part in the post-isolation reintegration process of the returnee. Post-Isolation Reintegration is a time-proven process of transitioning recovered personnel back into their normal duties with minimal physical or emotional complications.
