INGOLSTADT, Germany -- U.S. Army Europe's engineer chief recently attended the annual Military Engineer Center of Excellence's Information Exchange Seminar.
Col. Laura Loftus, U.S. Army Europe deputy chief of staff, engineer, and dozens of her NATO counterparts, participated in three days of discussions. The conference centered around three 'syndicates' - mobility, counter-mobility, and survivability. This year's event also included an industry day which allowed vendors to showcase some of the latest engineering technologies.
Major outcomes of the IES included identification of the need to update NATO processes, procedures, terms, and conditions; the need to better understand each countries' engineer capabilities and gaps; and the need to continue multi-national integration to achieve better interoperability.
