CAMP HENRY, Republic of Korea -- The U.S. Army Sustainment Command performed a Command Staff Inspection of the 403rd Army Field Support Brigade at Camp Henry, Nov. 16-20. A virtual inspection was done the week before on staff sections that required minimal hands-on inspection items.

The inspection gauges a unit's organizational and combat readiness.

The brigade's primary and special staff was looked at and provided Col. Michael Siegl, 403rd AFSB commander, a better understanding of where his organization stood. It also allowed each primary staff to validate their current practices.

For some, an inspection can be stressful; others embrace it as a tool.

"My experience has been great," said Clifton Harris, Total Employee Development training administrator. "I know what they want and I send it to them."

Harris participated in a virtual inspection. He prepared by using a checklist sent ahead from the ASC G-1 (Human Resources).

Midway through the inspection it was evident the OIP was beneficial according to Sgt. 1st Class Dennis W. Harris Jr, S-4 (Logistics)

"They didn't come in to steamroll, they came in to help," he said. "CW3 (Chief Warrant Officer 3) Monique Layne not only evaluated the S-4 shop, but she went out of her way to assist with any additional requests."
