ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, Md. - The deputy director of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) and acting commander, U.S. Strategic Command Standing Joint Force Headquarters for Elimination (SJFHQ-E) of Weapons of Mass Destruction visited 20th CBRNE Command (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, Explosives) here Nov. 19.

Air Force Maj. Gen. John P. Horner received an overview of the 20th CBRNE Command from Brig. Gen. William E. King IV, the commanding general of 20th CBRNE Command, the Defense Department's only multifunctional formation that combats CBRNE threats.

Similar to 20th CBRNE Command, DTRA, supports combatant commanders and provides expertise for countering threats posed by weapons of mass destruction.

With units on 19 posts in 16 states, the Aberdeen Proving Ground-based 20th CBRNE Command is the Defense Department's only multifunctional formation that combats global chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive threats. The one-of-a-kind command trains with joint, interagency and allied partners around the world.
