PREMIER Teammates, today we pay tribute to our veterans and reflect on the freedoms and liberties that their sacrifices continue to ensure across our nation. Our understanding and commemoration of this holiday has evolved since it was first established with our Great War's armistice agreement that took place in the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month of 1918. Now, 97 years later, Veterans Day has become appropriately part reflection and part celebration.

When describing our nation's great veterans, former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates once said that from the Revolutionary War through Iraq and Afghanistan, "a tiny sliver of America has achieved extraordinary things under the most trying circumstances."

While we humbly honor all those who served before us, let us also acknowledge that we too belong to that "tiny sliver", we too are bonded across generations in a unique manor that our nation continues to depend on. The veterans of all of our nation's wars-- the Great War, World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Iraq, and Afghanistan--all share the same blood and the same sacrifice, as do our selfless Families and Army Civilians.

What better way to honor, celebrate and demonstrate our bond this Veterans Day than with a renewed commitment to and genuine concern for the safety and well-being of our PREMIER Army Teammates. We are professionals following in the footsteps of professionals while setting the example for our nation's next generation of service members. Our nation trusts us, and in turn, we must trust each other. Let's take that responsibility and honor seriously and remember our PREMIER warriors who are currently deployed in service to our country, as we safely celebrate our courageous veterans.

Thank you for all you do to make the TSC PREMIER.

It's an absolute honor to serve with each of you.

SUSTAIN THE FORCE! PREMIER PRIDE!
